Anderson Hind – A crowle Farmer in the 19th Century.

By Angus Townley

Anderson Hind farmed 700 acres in Crowle. His father, John, bought a Mill in Crowle at the beginning of the 19th Century and by 1841 three sons were farming a large portion of the Crowle countryside. Anderson was living at the Tithe House, his brothers James and Thomas were farming Crowle Grange and Ealand Grange respectively.

As far as I am aware there are no direct descendants of Anderson or his brothers living in Crowle. Almost all of his children pre-deceased him and had moved away to farm outside Lincolnshire.
