Heritage Open Days 2019

A mini-bus day-trip to look at History and Heritage of the Isle of Axholme including Cornelius Vermuyden’s  original 17th century drainage works, Castle Mounds and other remains.

Meet at Potts Lane car park, Crowle. DN17 4DT 10:00am

We expect to finish at around 17:30.

Belton Folklore & History Walk

Join us on a 5 mile walk that will takes us through a thousand years of history in the Isle of Axholme.

Discover some of the local legends and folklore of the area whist taking a pleasant stroll around the area.

We will finish by looking at remnants of strip farming in Belton’s open fields before recuperating at the Crown Inn in Belton.

The tour will leave from near the site of the former Steer Arms – Junction of Belgrave Close with High Street (A161) Belton DN9 1QS

FREE event and no booking required – just turn up before the meet time of 2pm. Well behaved dogs on leads at all times are also welcome to join in.
