Hi! Tom shillito was my great grandad. We have a rhythm band poster framed on the wall in my dad’s house. I’ll get a photo next time I’m there.
Hi – that would be great. I think published it on the Isle of Axholme Memories page.
The space in front of Mr Shillito is missing. Could this be Tom Shillito, owner of Shillito’s shop in Crowle?
Tom was a cousin of Ian Shillito of Epworth (my father). Some time during the 1960s Ian bought the Crowle business from Tom and ran it in conjunction with his business in Epworth (E Shillito & Son, agricultural merchants). I remember visiting Tom’s shop at the time of the sale and seeing an old poster on the wall. It read “Tom Shillito and his Rhythm Boys”. I believe that Tom was a pianist and I regret not taking the poster as a memento!
