Thomas was the Tune half of Johnson & Tune who had the Trentside Brewery in Gainsborough. He also had an interest in The Burlington Hotel in Goole, for which he applied for the liquor licence when the hotel was built in 1875. This building still stands but only the ground floor is still in use as a pub, ( or was when I was last there ). At the time Thomas said he was residing at Rainsbutt.

Peter bought the Number 1 burial plot in the new cemertery on Mill Road. This is the first plot on the right of the central walkway, a double plot in which lies Peter, died 1869, his wife, Mabel, died 1890, Thomas, died 1888,Thomas’s wife Rebecca, died 1873, about a year after they married, and with a memorial to son George, who died 1891 in Australia. Other descendants of Peter are in other plots.

Peter and Thomas also had a Brick and Tile works which I think may have been on the right, two to three hundred yards passed the brewery on the road out to the moors. They also had a forty acre farm on Fieldside, but not quite sure where it was.

New Trent Brewery Co Ltd
New Trent Brewery,
Spean Lane

Private company registered in 1911 to acquire the business carried on by John Dymond.
