New Trent Brewery Location<\/p><\/div>\n
History<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong>The Brewery was constructed in 1878.<\/p>\n 14 March 1882<\/strong> – Partnership between Thomas Dymond, George Robinson, the younger, and Thomas Nutt dissolved as Thomas Nutt has retired. Thomas Dymond and George Robinson to take over.<\/p>\n Stamford Mercury [Thomas Nutt Was George Robinson, Junior’s Brother-in-Law.]<\/p>\n 13 October 1883<\/strong> – Thomas Dymond dissolved his partnership with George Robinson.<\/p>\n In preparation for the Auction in June a valuation of the Brewery and its other properties was carried out by Hebblethwaite & Son, Land Agents of Hull. The paper relating to this valuation are now in the Hull History Centre and can be seen here; <\/a>This includes an estimate of the costs for building the Brewery.<\/p>\n At that time the company owned the following 16 pubs;<\/p>\n Crowle:<\/strong> Darby & Joan, Fishmongers Arms<\/p>\n Luddington: <\/strong>Blue Bell, Friendship Inn<\/p>\n Keadby:<\/strong> Mariners Arms<\/p>\n Belton: <\/strong>Wheat Sheaf Inn,<\/p>\n Epworth:<\/strong> White Bear, Ellers Tavern<\/p>\n Haxey: <\/strong>Kings Arms<\/p>\n Doncaster:<\/strong> Dockin Hill Tavern, Red Lion Hotel<\/p>\n Hull: <\/strong>Albert Inn<\/p>\n Amcotts: <\/strong>Ingleby Arms<\/p>\n West Halton: <\/strong>Butchers Arms<\/p>\n East Butterwick: <\/strong>Oddfellows Arms<\/p>\n Misterton:<\/strong> Wind Mill<\/p>\n All the pubs with the exception of the Ellers Tavern were bought between 1876 and 1878.<\/p>\n The Property of Mr Robinson and not included in Brewery Assets <\/strong><\/p>\n Crowle Wharf:<\/strong> Robinsons Hotel The brewery itself had cost \u00a37,810 to build and in building the whole company a total of \u00a326,883 had been expended on the Brewery and Pubs. The mortgage was \u00a316,266. The whole company was valued at \u00a318,188<\/p>\n The original partnership of three had put in shares of \u00a37000 each. However in 1882 Thomas Dymond purchased Thomas Nutt’s share at 50\/- in the \u00a3 – ie he paid \u00a33,500. The valuer notes that Dymonds share was \u00a310,00 to Robinson’s \u00a37000.<\/p>\n Notes by the valuer include a summary of Brewery turnover which had significantly fallen off between 1879 (\u00a38,900) and 1883 (\u00a34,054).
