Anderson Hind farmed 700 acres in Crowle. His father, John, bought a Mill in Crowle at the beginning of the 19th Century and by 1841 three sons were farming a large portion of the Crowle countryside. Almost all of his children pre-deceased him and had moved away to farm outside Lincolnshire.
